There is however one thing I miss. One little experience of life before the starts and stripes. One purely maple. With this weekend upon us my heart is more than melancholy for my Canadaucka Thanksgiving. And more importantly that family trip that my brother, my parents and we started taking as young adult. Cozy homes on sun bright islands. Cook off competitions. Ferries. I love that this holiday is earlier in the season, which generally lets the weather be sunny and crisp. That we would have four days to visit, reconnect, burp and feel good.
I would like to get back there, to making this weekend important. To feeling the sun on my face as I sit on the deck of the ferry. I would like to share the easiness of it with my crew. For it to be a warm memory for them. Until we can I will try to be strong, to not miss those I love too much. Too eat a little turkey. To share a few to many cocktails.
