Happy 10 Month Birthday little Paul!
Although I suppose you are now anything but little. What an amazing month you have had - what an amazing boy you have become. Our days are now full and busy as you have perfected the art of keeping mama on her toes. You not only move throughout the house with a sense of adventure and discovery but you also pull up on anything you can and cruise amongst items you find stable enough. It is remarkable how fast you went from teetering and falling on your bum to standing strong and bouncing.
Your vocabulary is developing every day & your greatest accomplishment is that you can saw your name amongst your babble. It is the base of your language, not Paul but "Buuhhh-baaaaa". Said a hundred different ways all with a new inflection. You comprehension of the English langauge is also growing by leaps and bounds. You now readily give mama a kiss when she asks for one, a nice full mouthed loud "maah!". It is adorable.
You are still crazy about mealtimes and always let me know when you are hungry for "real food" as oppose to mom. You happily will sit in you boon for an hour slowly inspecting every piece and shoving it within your mouth. Your latest game is to feed mom or dad a piece of something, which we don't mind as your food is delicious and it makes you incredibly happy. Just this week you have also discovered how to feed Julie over the side of your chair. Or more honestly she has taught you how to feed her over the side of your chair, and out of mom's view.
This month mama has been trying to really listen to you and react to your cues, both physical and vocally. This is resulting in us stepping off the well worn path of parenting and trying some things I am sure others will question. I will fight those battles when I need to. By listening to you and following your lead, instead of trying to make you conform to every single thing I want you to, has actually produced better results for us in the end. My favorite new step is that after supper, when your belly is nice and full, and we want to play for another hour with you, we take of your pants. Yes, you play in a big fat cloth diaper with your onesies all unclipped, and it makes you so happy. Like any man, after dinner you want your pants off. Which makes complete sense because you are a boy, I just think it is so funny that you are already developing
such "boyish" characteristics.
Paul, although this month we have faltered a bit on sleep training I have no doubt that we will get there with you. It is not your fault we are having some set backs, mama and dada just need to be able to provide you with consistency. The most important thing is that you have already proved to us that you can go through the night, we just need to be able to be there to help you through it.
With the holidays upon us, and you becoming such a big boy I am certain that the next 2 months are bound to be amazing. Almost as amazing as you.
All my Love
Mama
