Tag It

Yesterday afternoon Julie, Paul and I had a very "animal planet" episode. We were out for our walk and came across this little white Scottie who was stumbling along. His entire right side was about three steps behind the left. He seemed disorientated and kept on trying to go into Trader Joes or stumble into the parking lot. So a very helpful TJ's employee and I tried to figure out what to do with him. He went to call the humane society and I, after crouching on the ground holding him for 15 minutes, put him in a buggy to contain him. See this poor little man had no collar with tags on, so I could not hold on to him with that. So while the TJ's dude and I are standing there trying to figure out what to do this lady comes running down the street and grabs him out of the cart. And all she says is "He's mine - thank you" and then literally runs away. Seriously she ran away from us. We had no chance to say anything back to her because she was running away. So what did I do? I followed her. It turns out she lives down the street from me. I am glad that I followed her so if I find her dog out limping around again at least I know where to return him to. Seriously people - but a collar and tags on your animal.

I would like to mention that during the whole ordeal my children were absolute angels. Thank god. Julie just sat tied to a tree and Paul took it upon him self to laugh and smile at everyone who would pass by. It is almost as if they know that mom is definitely not available at this time, so no jack assing around. Gee they learn fast.
