When babies are born their tear ducts are not completely developed, so when they get into a wail no tears appear. Then suddenly one day, when they have worked themselves into a full blown tizzy over their frustration to get some milk, you look down at the little red and explosive face and see tears trickling down. And your heart breaks. You feel like the worst mom in the world. And are drawn to tears just looking at their little face, anxious to fix their problem and make the tears go away.
Suddenly you realize the magnitude this new little person has on you and your life. And the importance you have on theirs.
Swallow it down and breathe.
