in our time away i missed her
they missed her more
the snorks, the baby waking tail thumping
the big brown eyes that say all she needs to
when we returned she spinned and jumped
happy, perhaps relieved
also a little sad for the life she got to live
missing her amigo
empathy for her
extra cudddles
and more attention to her needs
all at the top of the list
