It has been a long time since I have seen such a sense of unity. Looked into the promise of hope on the faces of the people of this country. Faces of disbelief, of fatigue, sadness. The feeling of hopelessness.
This week has reaffirmed the simple belief that there is hope. That you can be proud. That this country is not afraid of change. That together we have thrown up what we were fed for so long. That we belief in the power of believing in ourselves. That the future is bright. That my sons will, without any hesitation, live through the next 8 years of change and inherit a stronger sense of themselves at the end. That this country will rebuild. It will invest in what they have to offer.
As political as it is - I don't see it that way. It is not about red or blue, donkey or elephant. It is about believing in everything. Taking care of each other.
This, in my eyes, was a clear demonstration of the power of a single voice. A voice that ignited a flame within this countries people that had long since been smothered. It is impossible to describe. The air has become lighter. People look at ease. Like they are breathing again.
