I am very fortunate to have some very special people in my life & I feel very grateful for their friendship. When living in another country it is tricky to maintain relationships let alone friendships. No matter what they were previously they need to be able to transform into something new. While some kinships become more casual others become more intense. More meaningful. Some survive, others do not. There needs to be the highest level of understanding. Life is not as simple as it once was, and meeting for coffee on the corner is no longer an option. Plans must be made, tickets purchased, money saved. Every time I am blessed to have a special visitor I feel a bout of gratitude. I know the effort it has taken for them to get to me and I appreciate them understanding how important we are to each other. I also appreciate that they are taking the opportunity to come and visit here, understanding that it is not as easy as it once was for me to possibly visit them.
